How much does a Montreal move cost? This is the most asked question.

How much does it cost to hire truck movers?

We like to be very clear about the price and cost of the move, and we like our customers to avoid unpleasant surprises. For this reason, here we answer all questions about the price and cost of a move in the greater Montreal area. Our goal is to help our customers get more information and save more money when moving. We want to be very transparent and do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information.

If you opt for the services of professional movers, in low season (before mid-May and after mid-July) rates range from $85 to $125 per hour for two men and of $135 to $165 per hour for three movers, truck included. The price depends on the date, the middle of the month is cheaper, at the beginning and end of the month the price is higher. The last three days and the first three days of the month the price can be higher than 125/h. Attention: the price may change for the third or fourth floor without elevator.

How much does it cost to rent a truck with driver?

Our price for a truck with driver (Montreal area) is $65 per hour, including a truck (fully equipped) and a driver (before May 20 or from July 5). Notez that movers are not included in the above price.

What are the factors that will influence the price of the move?

There are several factors that can influence the price of a move:

  1. The date: the cost of moving may be higher during periods of high demand.
  2. The distance to go: this usually involves longer transport time and more fuel costs.
  3. The volume of goods to be moved:  the more things you have to move, the higher the cost will be.
  4. The type of accommodation: moving may cost more if you live in a high-floor apartment with no elevator.
  5. Additional services: packing and unpacking, assembly and disassembly of your furniture, piano, granite or marble table.
  6. Number of movers involved in the move.

I have my rental truck, can I have your movers just for loading and unloading the truck?

Yes of course. You can have 1 to 4 movers. The rate is approximately $40 to $55 per hour per mover in low season. Hourly rates apply to all residential moves And commerciaux. The price may be higher for peak moving season.

Do you charge travel time for local moves?

Yes, for all local removals, we charge for travel time. The cost of travel time depends on the distance, but generally one hour of travel is calculated. This offsets the company’s travel costs to travel to your departure address and return from your destination address to our offices, once the work is completed.

You usually pay at the end of the move, but sometimes all charges must be paid before your goods are unloaded, usually we apply this for a long distance move.

We recommend three or more movers for most large jobs. Although the hourly rate is higher, the work can be done much faster. This often results in a total cost equal to or less than that of two movers. Please let us know if your home is over 2000 square feet or more. In this case, we will recommend 4 movers and 2 trucks.

Yes! When we offer the flat rate, it will not change unless you change your inventory listing. All circumstances and difficulties must be disclosed before obtaining the quote/package.
